Problem:
When customers order hot melt adhesive label materials, due to extrusion during transportation, temperature changes, storage conditions and other reasons, if this problem is not solved in time, the waste paper will be broken during die cutting, the edge of the paper will be torn, or the adhesive will stick to the machine guide roller, rules, and rubber roller after loading, affecting the start-up production
In the hot summer, the problem of glue overflow is particularly common, manifested as residual glue on the printing roller, guide roller or stopper, resulting in surface material pollution, black label edge, labeling failure and other problems. Glue overflow not only affects the appearance and performance of the label, but may also cause equipment failure.
The solution generally adopted by printing factories is to purchase a release agent, which is actually a spray-like silicone oil, a low-energy chemical solvent, which is sprayed on the end face of the material to reduce the viscosity of the adhesive, thereby improving the end face glue penetration phenomenon. This silicone oil release agent is expensive. Long-term and large-scale use will not only increase the cost of the enterprise, but also this chemical spray will pollute the environment and does not meet environmental protection requirements.

Solution:
After experiments, it was found that shoe polish and adhesives reacted chemically, that is, the grease in shoe polish can be dissolved with adhesives, diluting and softening the adhesive, and reducing the cohesive force. Based on this principle, we selected a printing factory for the experiment. The materials of this printing factory also had the problem of end-face glue penetration. As shown in the figure (a), we prepared the grease formula according to the ratio of 80% butter and 20% engine oil, and evenly applied it on the surface of the glue penetration with an old cloth. After about half an hour, the adhesive softened and diluted, and the equipment could be started normally as shown in the figure (b). It is worth noting that this method only softens the adhesive, and the adhesive still exists objectively, so it is also necessary to do a good job of cleaning the paper feeding route on the equipment.

This solution not only improves the problem of unwinding adhesion, but also improves the adhesion of the softened adhesive to the guide roller and baffle, which is convenient for subsequent cleaning and can effectively avoid material breakage. Of course, although the edge of the material is contaminated by grease, it will be removed after waste discharge and slitting in the end, which will not affect the quality of the finished label, so there is no need to worry about this.
